My dear Johnson
Next Saturday the patrons of the Sierra Club will hold a meeting, & then will no doubt take action on the recession of Yosemite to the Federal Government Even Vice President Olney, friend of J.P.[I?] favors this move at last. & at least nine tenths of the people of the state would if they cared enough to think or act in the matter.
Hoping the New Year is dealing kindly with you & yours, I am
