John Muir

[Margeret Lunam]

to say. I have been at home all summer reading proof of the book & writing a little. The last of the galley proofs I sent to New York two weeks ago. So it is now done, & will appear in the fall. The Alaska articles for the magazine have been delayed in publication they will probably appear about the same time as the book
I hope you are now getting the rest of Picturesque California.
I am glad your church is likely to be restored now. With love to Maggie & kind regards to Mrs. Kelley whose nice long letter I received & will answer I am ever your affectionate cousin John Muir

Aug. 7. 1894

My dear Cousin,

I have just been writing a note to Susan and thought I would send you a word too though there is nothing new to write about. We are all well both here and at Portage and at Kearny Nebraska where Mary is. David is doing well at the new business of fruitraising and he likes it. Maggie my sister is much better this year I am glad
