Yours of the 21st inst. came yesterday.
Many thanks for your great kindness.
Yes, the times seem very serious judging from all standpoints and I hope we may soon see better else all flesh shall become discouraged.
No more Democratic administrations for me.
Now when I think of it I believe I am on a stike too. that is the

physical part of my being
For the past few years I have worked on so uninterruptedly and always with such a feeling of hurry, that nature has finally rebelled, and declared a strike and so I am obliged to rest just when I feel the least able to rest. So you see your "order came very timely. Hope it may not be too long until this can all be made right again.
We shall all be delighted when you can see the results of your labor in the form of your book.
