Dear Mr. Muir.

Responsiviely to your request of the other day, I am sending you by express an octavo parcel. Of the Bay Region Manual I have enclosed twop copies, which you are to receive as one. That in paper [illegible] matches, in size, the "Pittmia" and "Flora Franciscana" volumes; and in this whole [illegible]--or at least, in the appearance they make on the shelf, all in a row, when recently bound--I take some pride! Parts IV & V of the Flora Franciscana I hope to complete next year.

Yours very Faithfully
