Modesto May 10 ’80 Dear Auntie, We were blessed on the afternoon of the 5th (last Wednesday) with a fine daughter weighing 8 ½ pounds. She has black hair, black eyes, and is said to resemble me. I think she will look like Belle. She is fat, plump and awful healthy. “What a pretty baby” is the [ ] exclamation among her many admirers. May is doing unmarkably well, though she keep her body yet and will for three weeks to come. We hope that your health is improving and expect to see you up this way this summer. It seemed funny to her of Louies marriage! It was such a surprise. We reach our congratulations through Ma but you may present them again the wish them a long happy life. You must come one and all and see the baby as soon as you get able. She will grow plump & lovely until you see her. Write soon and let us know how you are getting along. We are anxious to hear. Yours very affectionately [Lou/Lon]
