(Copied from fragment marked Y-4)Thanks for letter so full of friendship. Castle Crags colors all my life. I wonder more and more at the vast number of friends. It was delightful to get your loving letter showing forth all the happy blessed family and life at Castle Rock. And to think I knew them all when they were children. And how wonderful that you adopted this wanderer as one of your family. All your lives seem golden. Peace and goodwill on earth seem as far off as ever. Geological time is required. The grippe blurred and darkened even my best days. but I kept doggedly at work until two or three weeks ago, when I was stopped by a ? chill.Wing on Wing The fine pure heartfelt joy and peace of Castle Rock. Congratulations and best wishes for glorious success for Fairhaven? in his bold Lochinvar bridal adventure. The happy helpful home you gave me stands out in the loveliest light and colors all my life. It is truly wonderful, and beyond all thanks and praise and explanation.[JOHN MUIR]05835
