Home, Sep. 15, 1914Darling Helen,I received your last letter yesterday on my return from another short Shasta trip with my friend Mr Herrin. It is always delightful to get your lively, sparkling letters so full of reassuring good tidings. You have not mentioned a 2d box of Bartlett pears sent 2 weeks ago. I suppose they were lost. Tom said he sent box of s[illegible]k[illegible]s a few days ago & soon the grapes will be ripe. Wanda is coming home with her baby Robert on the 17th.[illegible] is going home next weekI'm looking for Mrs Parsons every day, & when she comes I must get to work againEver your devoted fatherJohn Muir
