Lakeport, Cal. July 28- 1914Dear Mr. MuirToday I received my Sunset Magazine for August. I found an article of special interest about you Im glad to know where you are. How comforting must be your cool, quiet, retreats away from the noisy senseless crowd!Im not going to take much of your precious time. I wish very much to know something about a plant. I will send a specimen this mail. I would like to know the name and also the Indian name if possible. They claim that it has a great medi[illegible]al valueI asked one old Indian woman about ninety she replied "I dunno! you ask some old Indian" I asked "How old are you"? She answered "I dunno, we dont care anything about that, we like plenty eat."Yours with kind memories, Mary J. Arnold 05803
