[2]should you feel better, be sure to come as I expect to remain until Sept 4th - call upon Mr [Henries?] to bring you & tell him I am sure he can arrange the trip so comfortably You would not be [illegible]led or over fatigued I am expecting Mary soon & she would di[illegible] & a[illegible]se you & our household is very comfortable & devoted &[1][in margin: faithfully yoursMary W. Harriman][letterhead]Tuesday July 11th 1914[letterhead]Dear Mr Muir-Your letter came this morning. I am much distressed that you are not well enough to come to us - It is more beautiful & invigorating than ever & I am sure it is just the air you need to chase away those "after effects of Grippe"05794
[3]only Roland, of my family, came out with me but Dr Lyle & other friends, mostly Roland's college chums, make a pleasant party for me, [altho'?] Mrs A[illegible]ll is not with me this summer - We have had superb weather- sunny & warm with that rare [delicious?] atmosphere you remember - ever since we arrived The Tetons are quite heavenly & inspiring & have been constantly in view. The terrible terrible war casts its shadow upon us even here & Carol is in the midst - being [on?] a "[illegible]e" in Germany when the war broke forth - We heard she was taking the train for Berlin to join our friends the Ge[illegible] - the American Ambassador & his wife Then the cable was cut & we know no more
