384 Union StreetSpringfield, Mass.,March 6, 1912Dear Mr. Muir,I want to tell you how very, very much I have enjoyed reading your story of "Stickeen" My Aunt and I read it to-gether and I just love it. Was it really true? I love dogs and I am so sorry he disappeared and you didn't ever hear of him again. The other week I saw some moving pictures of great glaciers and ice walls and cravasses and I could just fairly see you and Stickeen traveling along together, and I had great sympathy with him for not wanting to go down those awful ice05157steps you made for him. I am so glad you wrote that splendid story.I am making a collection of autographs and am so very anxious to have yours. Would you be so very kind as to send it to me. Please believe I do not wish to cause you any trouble, but I should appreciate it so much.Your friend and Stickeen's too.Rachel Syman Field
