Royal HotelBuenos airesNov. 29, 1911My dear Professor OsbornYour letter dated September 25th makes me very happy it's so full of hearty good news and good work all so inspiring - all the family well, tingling with Rocky Mountain radium and God's best love. No wonder yon are rejoicing in the fine cretaceous work ahead of you. I should haveogreatly enjoyed being with you on the Red Deer River trip. And that the confounded Titanothere had been out of the way leaving you free for South America and South Africa. But we must not complain, for oftentimes our loneliest wanderings are most fruitful of all.I've had a glorious time in this fine wild America. All I came to seek I've found and far far more. Two days ago I returned from a trip across the Andes in search of Araucaria imbricata- found magnificent forest of it 4 or 500 miles s. of Santiago near the timber line. I'll tell the story when I get back. Now I'm waiting for a ship to S. Africa. How glad I'll be to see you all again. Love to each and all once more goodby. I'll write from the Cape.Ever faithfully yours John Muir05122
