But I start tomorrow morning for the grand hot river Ive been waiting so long to see, and alone as usual though plucky loving darling Helen wrote anxiously begging me to take her husband with me as she couldnt' bear to have me go alone. Of course I couldn't let her sacrifice his own young life for mine. Got Yosemite book done this [illegible] though for a month I've been at work by 5. Good by. Remember me to all who love you.Affectionately yours,John MuirN. Y. Aug. 10, 1911My dear friend Katharine H,I hope that ere this reaches you you & Marian will be in the pines with your brother breathing their strength and peace and pure fountain love. I know by your last letter that you need the mountains. Go I pray you, anywhere in the Sierra sugar pine woods, or a little higher in the balsam firs. Oh dear! how glad I'd be to go
