RANCHO DE MARTINEZChoice Fruits THOS. R. HANNA - MARTINEZ, CAL.Martinez, Cal., July 28th, 1911.Dear Papa;We are still hero and all well and happy. Muir is thriving and is a perfect little joy to us all. Wanda says he is the "best baby she ever saw, that she used to think that hers were glad but that ay boy was the best. I think I told you I had weaned him, so I am beginning to gain again. I enjoy the fruit so much-especially the peaches. The ones in front of the old house are beginning to turn yellow and will soon be ripe. We go up there nearly every day, and the trees and flowers are beautiful. I take the baby there and he always enjoys the pictures in the house. We were in your room a few days ago and everything looked natural, only lonely. The weather is fine, cool mornings and evenings but nice and warm in the midle of the day. Wanda say it is "sizzling hot" but I tell her she dont know anything about heat. John Swett came down about breakfast tine last week he was well, and asked for news of you. He gave Tom and Wanda a copy of his autobioughy. I have seen the Griffin girls and several of my old friends. All are delighted with the baby, but seem surprised that I could have such a big handsome boy or that I know how to take care of him and have kept him healthy. I dont see why I shouldnt have as much mother sense as Wanda. Tom tries to boss us and tell us how much more he knows than we do, but we all got along cheerfully. Buel is trying to get things straightened out so he went have to keep running up here. He dont think there was any urgent need of coming this time, but Tom just wanted to see him. Tom tells us he telegraphed to you forthelp" in buying the Reid vineyard but that you "turned him down". I think they were pretty sure you would lend the money from the way they spoke. Wanda is good to us and loves the baby, and he like her because she is fat.I hope to hear from you soon, and hope you are well. I feel splendid myself, not at all like last year, and we are all so glad.It is time to go to bed now, so good night.Always lovingly[illegible]05083
