Los Angeles, Cal., Jan, 2, 1911.325 West Adams Street,Mr. Charles Keeler,2727 Lwight Way,Berkeley, Cal,My dear Charlie:-I think with you that it is a long time since we have had the pleasure of meeting. When I begin to write it seems as though I could think of nothing else, and oftentimes my friends must fancy I have forgotten them, though I never forgetIn your desire to mingle with the currents of art, literature and science where they flow deepest, I sincerely sympathize; and wish you every success. You are fortunate in having so capable and living a grandmother to care for your children while you are abroad. I too wish to make a trip into South America but whether I shall be able to get away this year or not I can't tell. In the meantime I am hard at work on a book on YoSemite Valley, and with me writing consumes a great deal of timeMay the New Year bring you and your lovely family God's best luck.Ever faithfully your friend, [illegible]
