IllegibleMartinez Nov. 26/09Dear John Burroughs,I have read your Yosemite Ms. and can make nothing of it, You Raw so little of the Valley I think you had better say little or nothing on its origin. Leave it all out is my advice. It can do no good to yourself or others to try to tell what you have had no chance to know. Compare this haphazard "brazen ignorance With the careful loving life-logg bird studies that made you famous. You must he growing daft. You say," Come study the geology of the Catskills--those Devonian rocks". Could I do it in a day as you did Yosemite, I would come flying.Remember me to the Doctor and Harriet.Ever faithfully your friend and admirer,John Muir,Your impressions of the Valley as Scenery everybody Will enjoy reading without any blurring origin stuff,Illegible
