Martinez, August 16, 1909—Dear Mrs Hooker. How are you all after your descent from the glen? I got back from the desert yesterday - found Helen well & happy, as enthusiastic as ever over the glowing sun painted mountains & plains.I'm reading a lot of last years dictated stuff - find its very like the glen landscapes & taluses - rough beyond description with here & there a garden spot mostly concealed-Let me know when you think of visiting our little tawny valley so I'll be at home.Ever faithfully John Muir
