Home, Aug. 9, 1909.Darling Helen:I got home a week ago & then went to Lake Tahoe for a short trip of 3 days. Am surprised to learn you received no letter of mine after I left Sequoia several must have been lost. Tom says he sent you the money you wanted. When you need money you should give long notice, as you know how slow our mails are.I hope to see you before the end of this week. We are all well but I'm a little tired walking & talking Ever your loving fatherJohn Muir
