Martinez, June 2, 1909.My dear & blessed BrowneHearty thanks for the Dra[illegible]. It will always seem a message direct from yourself.Had a postal card from Mr Burroughs saying he was having a good time, but would not be able to leave the Island before the 8th of June with no certainty of getting off then on account of lack of berths on the crowded steamers. Poor wanderer - berthless & perhaps mushless!I am trying to get some of my notes made available for use ere I leave for the Sierra How delighted I would be with you as camp companion!Don't stay long in Chicago summer heat. Ever faithfully John Muir
