Home May 30, 1909.Darling Helen:I'm always so glad to know that from day to day you are getting better It has been so dreadfully anxious a time these last 5 years.Yesterday was blazing hot the first oppressively hot day of the season, & in the afternoon the Nevada Docks & warehouses were burned, also coal bunkers.Im pegging away alone now but must try to get a typewriter.Ever your devoted fatherJohn Muir
