[1]May 26- Hilo. MawaiiH. I.We spent the night on [ruin?] of crater of Halea Kala & saw the sunset & sunrise at that place. Saw thro' field glo[illegible]es the "Silver Sword" [growing?] [an one of sub craters?]. Here is its picture & here is one of the leaves of the plant. C. B.Mr. John MuirMartinezCalifornia04510 [2]J. B. wants to know if you knew this plant. They say it grows only in Haleakala.
