[1][letterhead]March 14/09My dear Mr. Muir,We have looked for you a word from you almost every hour, but none comes. We are very anxious lest you be ill yourself- or tired out from all the exertions & experiences of the last weeks. We want also to have news of Wanda & Helen, & are hoping that all is going well with them & you, & yet we want assurance of this. Can you drop us just a line at General Delivery04456 [2][letterhead]Pasadena. We leave there tomorrow. Shall have mail from T. [C.?] forwarded there, & probably make that our headquarters for next week or two.Everyone here so disappointed that you did not come here. Mr. B. thinks we must not stay here longer, though they are so cordial & urge us to.Harriman & party expected here today& we are invited to sit at table with them so I must stop & get ready. He is lying down - J. B. is reading.04456 [3][letterhead]We've had a beautiful time here, & seen a great deal- & found a host of kind hearts —- how glorious the world is, anyhow! But we do want to hear from you.If we sail for H- it will be on March 26 - or April 9 — probably the latter. Our mail while in S. F. will be sent to my friend - Rev. David Evans, 1279 Sacramento St. S. F. He is a dear friend, formerly from Middletown, N. Y. - rector of Grace Church in S. F. & has urged me to make my home with them when there - so all mail04456 for J. B. & party will be sent there.Must stop now-We all send love in heaping measure.Clara BarrusC Barrus
