[1]Daggett, Dec. 24thDear Papa -My walk didnt hurt me any, tho' I was rather out of breath when I reached the Station, so Im all right and you needn't worry. The Agent wanted me to write and tell you how sorry he was about the mistake in No. 3's times. The operator got things mixed up, thats all. It was the Salt Lake's overland that was five04352[2]hours late, instead of No. 3.Dix laughed when he saw you riding. H was just coming home from town but said you didnt see him. Maybe he thinks by laughing at you riding in haste that he can get even about his "Tower of Babel." But alls well that ends well. What awful weather you are having! Are you sure it didn't hurt you to get home in that cold rain? It's glorious here, bright04352[3]and sparkling.Buel and I had a nice ride to Barstow Tuesday, and I sent off those papers. It was a grand Desert day, and it was a nice little trip. Here is a silk handkerchief Mrs Funk wants me to send you with her best wishes. And all wish you a Happy Christmas.Lovingly yoursHelen04352
