I sent you a little remembrance which I hope will prove as much of a convenience for you as the one I have has been for me for I at once gathered my clippings and now know jsut where to find what I want easily. I did not label the envelopes as mine are, thinking you might want them different. I might have knit you a pair of socks as in the days of old but they would be of no use to you now that you are not tramping among the mountains in the frost and snow.
And now again best wishes both for the day and the year.

Affectionately your sister Sarah

My dear Brother John

I wish for you a happy Christmas, and all good wishes for the coming year, may it hold for you much that will bring comfort and gladness. We all have so much to be thankful and grateful for each passing year we can go hopefully forward trusting in our kind heavenly Father for the days as they come. We of the clan here are all well and enjoying the fine bright days. We have had

quite a number of frosty mornings lately making us think of other days when we had a good many of them, but many of the flowers are blooming and there will soon be many more. I hope you keep well, and I am sure you will be busy, writing as usual in that room of your's up stairs and bringing out something more to make people glad to read and learn. I recieved the little booklet you sent me of "Muir Woods," which is very pretty It was fine that you should meet the man who gave the beautiful forest the name, and

also make the trip to the place with him. I think it must have been a mutual pleasure. I am always glad to hear how well Helen is keeping, She will have been away another year, and though she see's so much to enjoy in the desert what a glad day it will be for all when she can return to the old home. It will seem more beautiful than ever to her I think. Wanda too keeps well, and what a comfort the dear little boy will be to you all, It is fine that they are so near to you.
