Darling Helen;
I wrote to you yesterday, just before receiving your letter. I gave Tom $100+ to get you 2 $50 Express orders, & money for the Wilson bill. All of which Ill send tomorrow if Tom gets to Martinez this P.M. which is doubtful as it is [raining?] again & the roads are awful. But anyhow I'll send it as soon as the weather lets me.
My! what rain & fog I'm so glad you are not here. I usually get luncheon & supper at Wanda's now. Breakfast in my den. I feel pretty well, but have had a cold. The place is looking fine, & most of the [business?] chores are done for the season so I will have more time to write
I'm feeling lonesome to see you & hope to ere long
Kindest regards to Vans & Fs.
Ever with much love your Father J.M.
[in margin: Tell me how you like the Dedication. If you can suggest improvements it is not too late to change it]
