Darling Helen,
I was in S. F. yesterday & sent you a lot of semi-edible knicknacks from Goldberg. & Tom sent you peaches. Your own are just beginning to ripen & are rather small, but the best of them will not seem worthless on the hot desert. The pears are still too green but Ill send some in a week or two to ripen in the Mohave oven. Be careful about drinking too much ice water, getting too tired, or suddenly chilled. In particular be careful how you undertake excursions at this time of year away from the ranch however good your companions.
Here is another deed to sign which Coleman handed me.
I feel the heat here (about 85 in my room) too oppressive for good work Lots of north wind & mosquitoes. I sleep on your balcony. I expect a letter today from you.
Ever lovingly devotedly your father
