65Mouth of the Grand ArroyaKern CanonJuly 81908Darling Helen. We arrived here an hour ago from Lower Kern Lake. Have got my bed made at foot of big pine & was waiting for the supper call when I learned the mail would be sent out in 15 minutes. I of course hurried for & word to thee. Heaven bless you darling. dont take long rides in the hottest hours. Write me a line addressed c/o the Sierra Club Mineral King, CaliforniaWe are camped in a fine grove with Turk turban lily gardens & glorious floods of cool roaring water.I feel better every day & I think I may be here a couple of weeks longer so you will have time to write a letter or two after you receive this. I mean to spend most of the time in the upper basin of the Grand Arroya & the Kern Kahwoah full of lakes, bryan thus, Little glaciers, etc. We have a fine lot of outers, most will go to Mt. Whitney - not I.Most of the old members of the Club have asked a bout youvery kindly again & again. Remember me to all.Ever your devoted fatherJohn Muir
