Darling Helen;
I'm glad you are enjoying the jasmine. I don't know who sent the cherries but guess it was Tom, for he told me Monday he had sent you a box, I have not seen him lately to find out. The whole family seems to have gone off again.
I think Stickeen will take all the month. though he goes on well now & I even enjoy rewriting the dear Muggins. Had a letter from David Douglas yesterday. He always sends kind inquiries & some regard for you. Prof Balfour wants more Arizona [pet?] wood. Those sent before are very interesting he says.
Lovingly your
Father John Muir
