Dear Mr Colby
I had a letter from the President last evening from which I quote "I am trying to see if we can not leave the things on the line that you indicate - that is, damming Lake Eleanor & letting San Frnacisco depend for a generation or so upon that & the Tuolumne tributaries. But of course I must see that S. F. has an adequate water supply."
So you see things are not so bad as they look in the Coll.
