[illegible] BuellSUPERINTENDENT OF CITY SCHOOLSandPRINCIPAL OF HIGH SCHOOLJANESVILLE, WISCONSINJanesville, Wis.,April 6, 1908.Mr. John Muir,Martinez, Cal.Dear Sir:-My pupils in physical geography have become so much interested in your work as a student of glaciers that they wish to secure your portrait to hang in the laboratory in which they recite. They have raised the money to buy the portrait and now are quite disappointed that I am unable to obtain it for them, although I have tried to do so through all the usual channels. Will you kindly inform me whether there is published a portrait suitable for framing and, if so where it can be obtained? If not, I should be glad to know where I can secure a photograph from which I can have a larger picture made.My only excuse for troubling you is the refusal of my pupils to be satisfied with any other picture.Respectfully,Mary Armstroug.High School.[illegible]04131
