My dear Mr. Muir:
My friend Vroman has just told me that you were planning to leave Martinez in the near future for a trip to the mountains and as I am very desirous of seeing you before I start for Boston I hope that I shall not be so unfortunate as to miss you again. I expect to be in San Francisco about the thirtieth of this month

and have been looking forward to dropping in on you at Martinez somewhere about that time.
I was extremely sorry to hear that you have been "laid up" and I trust that you are feeling entirely yourself once more.
Very sincerely Yours
