Dear Sir:

I write to informs you that you are appointed a member of a committee to meet at Stanford University on Monday, March 23rd, at ten A. M. The object veing to meet with the State Board of Forestry and discuss the cutting of the redwood trees in the California Redwood Park, giving your views as to the future policy of the care of the park. If it shall remain a forest primeval, or be forested in a scientific way by the felling of such trees through its area as a forester any determine to be detrimental to the rest of the trees.
