Dear Gray,
I send you here a few odds & ends from Southeastern Alaska Please send back a specimen of each or fragment named. Had a glorious summer among the glaciers. Found ten that flowed majestically into the sea & sends off bergs. There can hardly be less than 10,000 big & little in the territory. counted over 200 from one standpoint. The forest are magnificent That cupressus we found about Shasta is not [Nootkatensis?]. Have just been comparing them. Found specimens in Alaska 150 miles [at?] of Wrangel 150 ft high [6?] ft diameter. Ever cordially yrs John Muir
