Dear Dr. Bade: I am much pleased to receive your letter of October 22nd and to note that you are coming this way in December. By all means try to get on to Washington. Our plans for the discussion of the subject of State and National parks are developing very satisfactorily we think. Our present hope is to have an evening session devoted to that subject, when I hope we can get the President to say a few words on the relation of the Federal Government to National Parks. Mr. Ellicott of Baltimore was in the office day before yesterday. I am quite sure that he wrote to the Independent. He feels strongly on the subject of the aesthetic and practical value of parks. I hope to hear from you soon and to know that you can make ourconvention. If you do get here we shall certainly want to have some words from you in some one of the sessions.
