Martinez, June 22, 1910Dear Sister Joanna, Margaret died today. This after noon at 2 o'clock All her children were with her. David & Sarah arrived 4 hours too late to see her in life. Her last three days were spent in a kind of sleep nigh to death during which she was never for a moment conscious or gave any sign of pain.I'm so glad I was with her to cheer & comfort her as best I could while she yet knew me & fondly clung to me- and glad we all are that she is now at rest in the better land free from bodily weakness & care.Affectionately your brother John
