Martinez, June 11, 1910 Dear Mrs Newton I have a cousin in Dunbar, Mrs. Margaret Hay Lunam, whose daughter, Margaret will doubtless be glad to show you our old home. Wish I could be with you on your fine promising trip to Scotland but IΓÇÖm held here by my sisterΓÇÖs illness, and lots of book work etc. I enclose note of introduction & am with all good wishes to yourself Mr Newton & the children faithfully yours John Muir
