(Copied from fragment marked Y-6)6th June [1910]Dear Mr. Hooker:By the time I reached home yesterday afternoon at 3 o' clock I found that Sister Margaret had slowly recovered from the slight paralytic stroke she suffered last Saturday. But she is still unable to speak clearly and at times to recognize her own daughters. She knew me, however, at the first glance, and embraced and kissed me as she always did, and tried to tell how glad she was to see me once more. She is perhaps a little better to-day, but the doctor's reports give but little hope. She clings to me so fondly and beseechingly and I must stay beside her and try to cheer and comfort her in the gloom of the dark valley she fears she soon must cross. I'll write again soon.Ever your affectionate friend,04780
