Martinez, Mar 5, 1910[in margin: Gen 3[1?]174]Dear Mr Lummis,That's a sturdy telling editorial of yours on the Hetch Hetchy Valley, but you are off very far on the Ballinger Pinchot qurrel. B. is one of our best friends in helping to save Hetch Hetchy. P. is one of our worst enemies in persistingly trying to destroy Hetch Hetchy and indeed the whole Yosemite Park. But this is too narrow a place to discuss broad questions Hope to see you ere long and am faithfully yoursJohn Muir
