Transcription
My dear Mrs. Bidwell,
I have been homebound all winter with grippe and bronchitis. Yesterday for the first time in four months I left home going as far as Berkeley with one of my girls and today I am laid up with bronchitis, very much to my regret preventing me from attending the funeral. But I hope to be able to make the journey to Chico ere long. Heaven bless and comfort you.
Ever your friend
