D. K. Zumwalt
Visalia, Cal. Oct. 4th, 1902.
Mr. John Muir,
My dear Mr. Muir,---Your second kind remembrance "Our National Parks" is received. Please accept my sincere thanks.
My wife and I are taking our evening' rest by reading the "Mountains of California', and more than enjoying it. The brilliant word pictures are so realistic we can close our eyes and almost see The surpassing beauty and grandeur of mountains and canyous, even when They describe points we have not visited.
My wife thinks the illustrations in "Our National Parks" are superb. With sincere thanks, and kindest regards to yourself and daughters, both from my wife and myself, I remain
Most cordially yours
