Mr G W Stewart.
Dear Sir,
I learned by a telegram received this morning that Doctors Merriam & [Gannett?] will leave Washington "about the 4th & go direct to Kings River" It is unlikely therefore that we will be in Visalia before the 11th or 12th.
Yrs truly
John Muir
[illegible]
I will go by Visalia & Giant Forest - & suppose [Gannett?] & Merriam will. But of this I am not certain nothing as yet having been said on the subject.
