My dear Mr. Muir:-

We herewith send you proofs of some of the illustrations for your article. Wonft you begood enough to write suo-captions which will make more definite your connection with the things they represent? For instance, the different mountain peaks, if you could give us the date when you first saw them, or the years you lived near them, or whatever is of interest in regard to them, it wouldadd much to their value as I illustrations.
I think we shall probably use this article in July, no won't you he good enough to return the proofs with your captions at your very earliest convenience?
Believeme,

Sincerely yours,

[illegible][02994]
