My dear Mr. Muir,
I am very glad to have your letter of April 12th and to see how buoyantly you are making plans for your future work. The tasks you have laid out for yourself show at least a good deal of optimism, and I wish you all possible success in their completion. I hope you are going to give us the pleasure of seeing your Colorado Cannon and Yosemite Valley books, and I need hardly assure you that the Atlantic will be glad to welcome any parts of those books which seem to fit the magazine uses.
Mr. Perry, as you may have noted in the newspapers, made recently a flying trip to your state, and hoped to get sight of 02992you before returning, but his stay was necessarily so short as to prevent any stop-overs. But the trip was altogether such a delightful experience that Mr. Perry is likely to repeat it at the earliest opportunity, and then he has promised himself the pleasure of a longer stay, and hopes to make a call, at least, upon you.
I am glad you are noticing practical results of your Parks book in sending people into the mountains.We are constantly seeing such evidences of the pleasure it has given people as the clippings I enclose.
