Friend John
Yours acknowledging receipt of the pictures or pho's came duly to hand also the magazine for which I thank you very much and pleased to hear that you were all in good health and that you would send me Photos of all your family I think John you would of had a hard subject in me for a botanist. for if you remember John you used to get a little out of patience with me when you were trying to teach me arithmetic when we got throug work in the old saw mill but I always forgave you for you were studing very hard and of course I was dull. I can see you now leaned back in your home made chair covered with old sheep skins reading [illegible] but just the same John I gained a great deal of knowledge from you which has been lots of help to me- but you know it is eiser to look back than it is a head
