Dear Mr. Muir,

May I remind you again of my very warm interest in your next book and my hope that this spring weather will not lead you wholly away from pen and ink and habits of writing? For it would, I think, be a real deprivation to many if they were to fail of getting both your Alaska and your autobiography. I am retaining the hope of seeing the manuscript of one of the books by fall.

Yours sincerely,

[illegible]

Mr. John Muir.
