John Muir,
Martinez, Cal.,
My Dear Mr. Muir:-
Your beautiful present to the club came to [hand?] last evening and I want to express to you our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks. Sometime ago I resigned as Corresponding Secretary and am now holding no office, but, will forward the book to the proper official, who will doubtless tender the "official" thanks, but, they won't be any more hearty than mine.
Sincerely Your Friend,
Will G. Steel
