as to Mrs. Carrs treatment in last days
Martinez Dec. 18, 1901
Dea Mr Lukens
I was shocked by the news in your last letter as to the treatment of poor Mrs Carr by her Keeper - I thought of going at once to see her legal guardian, but since I knew no one in Templeton I felt I could not be useful in finding a proper Keeper. Surely the guardian can have no difficulty in doing this duty. I hope the news is not true or at least will prove greatly exaggerated. Anyhow she must be faithfully cared for & supplied with every comfort she requires. Let me know as soon as possible the facts of the case & what is needed that I can supply, & greatly oblige
