Dear Mama

I went to the opera last night with Mrs Pitcher to hear the Meistersinger and everyone enjoyed it wonderfully, the quintet where [Gadski?], Shermman-H[eich?], De R[u?]ski, Bishpam and Dippel all sing is marveous (I fear these people would hardly know there names the way I've spelled them) I do wish that you could hear some of it, couldn't you come down for Monday's Matinee? I couldnt go with you, but that wouldnt matter. I suppose you have heard from the papers how good Mrs Hearst is being to us about music, I went to the Damrosch recital this afternoon, it was delightful and we all went almost crazy,

I got home at 2 A.M. this morning, and went up to college at 9 and had an awful English ex I guess I got through alright but it wasn't exactly pleasant. I saw Miss Eastwood at the opera last night and she said that she could
