My dear Johnson,

I wish I could write you those Alaska things for the summer coming. I still have three articles on parks to write for the Atlantic & am on Yosemite Valley for the Encyclopaedia Brittanica all promised for spring & on account of numberless interruptions I make miserably slow progress - I'll write the Aurora etc. as soon as possible. I should think Burroughs could give you at least five or six articles - the more the better for everybody The trouble is he is not quite free. Don't work too hard - Ever yours
