Blessings of the tree [family?]
Dear friend Lukens.
Neither silence nor distance can abate one jot true friendship. on the contrary it glows and burns all the brighter & more divinely as we grow older
I know well how you feel for your tree family on the mountains, the right kind of wealth ever blessing yourself with their life-giving beauty & shade, & innumerable others now & hereafter who will bless you in turn & truly keep your memory green. Remember me to all your family Write to senators & the President protesting against Hetch Hetchy bill especially Poindexter & Smoot
Ever faithfully
