Dear Osborns

,Many thanks for your loving invitations to your blessed Castle home on the Hudson. You hardly know how hard the selfdenial has been to stay here through the blazing summer heat toiling on Hetch Hetchy. But Ive been with you all the time in heart and mind and have never lost hope of meeting you all again after this fight is over.
The Raker bill has been meanly skulked and railroaded and logrolled through the House but we are hoping it will be checked in the Senate and sober second thought will prevent the country's disgrace in destroying a great National Park
I was very tired, but a ten day visit and rest at Mrs Harrimans Idaho Ranch greatly delighted and refreshed me. This so far has been my only summer outing.
Love to you all. I know your bravely fighting in our battle for food's beauty on behalf of all the world

Ever your devoted grateful friend
John Muir
